custom fields not showing in wp post edit?

hello everyone,

I've had a couple of people write to me recently who are using my theme saying that underneath their post in edit there's nowhere to add custom fields.

has anyone else experienced this?

Has anyone got information about how I amend that so I can instruct accordingly?

    The new Wordpress 3.1 hides some of the features on various screens. In the editor screen, click on the Screen Options link in the upper right and you'll see check boxes to display the features you want.

    Click the more option on the top right, and retick custom field, it will now appear.
