Having issues with Wordpress "tags"

I just installed the latest version of Wordpress on a new blog and I'm running into an issue.

It seems when I put tags in for a page then save/update the page, the tags go away. I say this because when I go back to that page, the tags I had already put in (and saved) are now gone.

This is not happening with older versions of WordPress.

Anyone else have this issue? If so, any idea what it is or how to solve it?

I've not had this problem, but try deactivating all your plugins and adding tags. If the problem goes away then reactivate your plugins one by one until you find the one causing the problem.

If the problem is still there after deactivating your plugins switch to the default TwentyTen theme.

If the problem is still there try deleting and re-installing WordPress manually (rather than by Fantastico or some other script).

I hope one of those helps (and of course take a database backup before you start!)

    Cheers,

    Martin.

Well, I did all that and the tags still do not show up. By chance, are they still there I just can't see them or since I can't see them it means they are all gone?

To see if they're still in the database, just log into your WordPress admin interface, and click Post Tags in the left navigation menu. You'll either see your list of tags or nothing!

Maybe you have too many plugins which are conflicting

You will learn that the best sites use custom php scripts and custom css code for different functions rather than plugins

Plugins are mostly free and easy to use but also slow down your site

Free themes are alos poorly coded sometimes and cause problems, not so with top qaulity premium wordpress themes in my experience

Maybe try a new tag plugin or disable each plugin one by one which i know is a hassle but the only way to isolate the problem
