Why you should avoid Wordpress 3.1, at least for now!

I just updated the other day to wordpress 3.1 and while some of the new features are really great, one very important feature is broken. That broken feature is adding photos to posts and pages and obviously will hurt anyone right now that wants to change any pics or add to there site.

Anyone besides me experiencing this?

It's just a temporary bug. I'm sure Wordpress will get the problem fixed by the close of the week.

No problem adding images to my posts or pages. If your using the free hosted wordpress.com thats different as its not your site because your using the wordpress.com extension

When you have your own site using the wordpress.org framework, there's no problems like what you are experiencing.
Unless your blogging about wordpress, wordpress.com free hosted blogs will not benefit you. Better find a domain name with a keyword in it thats related to your content and consider a switch to your own site.
wordpress provide an export/import tool under tools in the wordpress dashboard to help you migrate to your own wordpress blog or website

I do not have a free wordpress. Perhaps I have a plugin that is causing wordpress to crash certain features for me, but from the research I have done on google; I am not the only one experiences this. I am just letting people know it may be a problem for them as well. I use Namecheap.com to buy domains I find it to be the best.

I haven't had any problems at all with images and photos. The problem I am having is I can't find where I can allow and not allow comments on certain posts and pages now. I know that in the "discussion" part of settings you can set that, but it doesn't change. You used to be able to "allow" comments for each individual page.

Upgraded quite a few of my sites since release, so far no problems at all.

Also upgraded quite a few themes and they seem to working fine.

  I'd suggest that you check if maybe the directory rights got messed up while updating.
  
  You need to make sure that your webserver can write to the /wp-content/uploads folder and its subfolders.

Adding images works just fine in WP 3.1. Most likely cause for your troubles is a plugin conflict, next most likely is a theme conflict.

You didn't describe the symptoms of your issue, which would let more knowledgeable people get a little farther in helping you. Are you getting errors in the uploader, the upload box not opening, what buttons are you clicking and what is the result, etc.?

  With regard to WP 3.1 and the comment by dsbusiness23 I can confirm it is a problem for me too.
  
  I wanted to replace some images in posts using both the uploaders but the images did not appear in the post?
  
  Checking the Media folder revealed that those images were hiding there! Even worse the post content is not displayed either! In fact only the categories and tags are displayed.
  
  The fact that you can view this post on the homepage without any problems is mystifying to me but it proves the post content is there!
  
  I have retried refreshing my FF browser with CTRL F5 and logging in and out repeatedly.
  
  I have 26 plugins which I have de-activated and re-activated to no avail.

  I am using the Suffusion theme by Sayontan Sinha so I found out that by deleting the original default theme (2010) it was a big mistake as my existing theme depended on 2010 being there- it caused no end of problems!
  
  Any ideas?
  PS: I have just installed the free easyexitbot plugin (A WSO) which will redirect visitors to amazon or anywhere else of your choosing, when they try to escape... I installed it after the above problem so I don't loose a potential conversion?

WP 3.1 is a stable version and has no issues with uploading images. I have done that for several of my clients on different hostings.
