Most people do not realise how easy it is to convert a basic CSS/XHTML template into a WordPress theme. There is an excellent tutorial on how to do this at Jestro:

Convert XHTML/CSS To Wordpress | Jestro

Here is an example template from which I derived a WP theme largely using the instructions above:

Template Preview (thermal) - Free CSS Templates

And the finished product:

In case you happen to like the theme, I uploaded it and the original template at the link below. Feel free to use it, but remember to credit the original author of the template (not me, but the Free CSS Templates site in the original template.)

It truly is a great article... at the moment I am in the process of migrating the themes so that they will be applied to both the admin site and blog site...

I always thought the entire site was totally incomplete if the new/existing user logins into to a site that has a great front end but a really plain Jane "back-end"... continuity to the web site is very important to me

I have begun to re-write my permalinks to go just the other route, that is to be calling these php files from html/aspx forms in the page..

What was explained within the article definitely seems to be the easier route seems much more efficient but still leaves a lot be said about the site continuity with perhaps say, work still being needed on the permalinks (web.config file) that is.... WordPress covers some of this but certainly not as straight forward as this

Anyone else working "this side of the house" or has, please email me... Thanks...

Oh yeah or P.S. he really doesn't cover the issues regarding page size etc... anyone running anything other than javascript to resize the page to fit the browser (for those still cruising the internet using flying carpets, smoke signals, and square CRT monitors)
