directory site plugin wordpress/cms?

Hello,


im searching for a basic directory plugin for wordpress.. like for example i want to start a directory about restaurants in my local area and i want categories like chinese, french kitchen, w/e and then each restaurant will have its own post/page about them..

now im pretty sure it doesn't exist like i want.. but i can edit them i have some php / css knowledge so that would be a problem i guess..

anyone know that kind of plugin? or maybe another CMS that has something like this?

    You know I was about to start a directory with the same idea, but then google came out with this new deal about content and I decided that I would put it on hold for a while, I think that over the next couple of rounds of indexing things will settle down some, I would caution anyone about being associated with what google may consider low value linking farms, but you can make your own mind up, I have been focusing on individual niches with original content.

      Hi I am new bee,

      I looking for the directory listing plugin which would give me a Profile page & images and video attached to the profile which i can configure.

      I have tried to search it however could not find it.

      Basically i need it for Banquet Listing.

    Depending on what you want to achieve you could do it without using a plugin by using the Link menu and a custom links.php, etc. template.

      Yes you are right. I have template ready to deploy. What i am looking for is like On the launch page area wise Restaurant Listing With Restaurant Image Small Description with some badges like parking available, Capacity, Connectivity. Once a user clicks on it a page will open Which will contains Description, All related details with Comments and review of the place, beside it i want Google Map which would show the connectivity.

      Profile page i can create from back end what i want is user can also add listing of his/her restaurant. So how to give this page to the user?
