Hello fellow warriors!

I've had this site up for a while now and I've only sold a few units despite my best efforts at article marketing, youtube videos, forum posting and SEO.

Sing Opera Now - How To Sing Opera

I'd love to hear your experience and wisdom in the form of a critique.

Thanks so much in advance.

I would try putting more content "above the fold". It looks a little plain, maybe add pictures of concert halls in the background for more feeling. Change the background at least, looks like I'm staring at my grandmother's wall.

Hey man you have a great voice.

But why lie? You probably read too many how-to-sell books from people that never sold anything (you were their only customer).

Change the video to the truth:

"Singing is fun! And I can teach you how to train your voice. There is a technology to it and I can show you all about it. You will stand out and your you can become famous..."

I think you get the point.

Nobody runs around with the idea that they might lose their voice, especially if they are not famous yet.

People buy out of want and not so much in order to avoid.

Beautiful singing. I would recommend ending the video a bit nicely with a "Thank you" or "Good bye". The video is ending very suddenly.

The headline "Sign Up To Learn How To Avoid The#1 Singing Mistake!" isn't really appealing, and in my opinion doesn't stand out. I found myself skipping that part completely.

As for the video I think it should be centered on the page rather than at the top. Also the gap between bottom of pics and text is huge.

Also I think the font of writing is bland,, needs some headlines in there to bring it to life and I reckon opt in box should be next to writing or below, rather than on top.

      Just saying what I think

  • Hi,

I am assuming that is you?

Would you buy from yourself, looking at that site? The site is incongruent and disjointed. It also looks like you are trying to copy internet marketing principles, but kind of like a 'cut & paste'. (I.e., the aweber form in the middle of your page which really makes no sense there).

When people think of opera, they think of pavarotti. Someone 'old'. You look like a 'young' guy (relative to the perception of 'professional' opera singers), so my initial reaction was 'what qualifies you to teach opera?' You should take the content from your about us page - "http://www.singoperanow.com/about-vic/" - and let people know who you are.

Otherwise, it looks literally like you are just 'some kid' wearing a shirt that definitely does not match people's perception of opera singers (you should have a suit, not be dressed casual like that, because you literally look like what people looking to sing opera would consider a 'punk'.). You also need to consider your market -- who is your target market? Young people? Old people? People singing in choirs? The guy working at McDonalds?

Bottom line... your site is really disjointed, incongruent (some parts look professional, others don't), difficult to navigate (I had to 'hunt' to find your about us page), etc, etc. Plus -- the testimonial was a poor choice. I'm assuming he is your friend -- because of the way he looks. He also comes across very insincere in the video, looks like a 'punk' (i.e., has an earring, which is definitely not what people think of when they think of opera singers), and seems like he's reading from a script. (Or rather just making something up to try and make you sound good. He doesn't sound like he knows what he is talking about).

You need to take a step back -- figure out what teaches you to teach opera -- who your target market is/what would appeal to them, etc, etc.

I partially agree with you. Most of the opera singers are aged but still if you have talent you can do anything. This 10 year old girl: made it to the final. I think there is another girl who made it to the final in Britain's got talent with Susan Boyle, maybe she was the one but I can't remember her name. Most of the people will prefer aged opera singers but still if you sing nice there is nothing to worry about, people will surely love you.

Sure, I will go with that. But make sure you still follow mbmehmet suggestion of centering the video. After all you want people to watch your video.

The catalog tab really doesn't make sense where it is.

I think you are trying to do 'too much' & 'everything' yourself. What you should probably do (if you have a little bit of extra cash) -- is find someone's site who you like, who you would buy from as well -- then higher either that web designer or someone similar to put together a site for you. It may cost you $500, but in the long run would be worth it.
