Hi Warriors,

I need to setup my Wordpress site so that my blog is not on the home page. I need my home page to be a static page and my blog on one of the other pages.

Is this doable?

    Yes it is.
You create a page called (for example) Home.
You then go to settings -> Reading -> and then check the radio dial next to "A static page" Finally, select the page you want as your landing page and click "Save changes"

    All the best

If you want your home page to be a static page then simply go to the 'reading' settings and put the page you want as homepage as a 'static front page'. Obviously you need to create a page first and title it appropriately.

If you do this you should also think of creating a custom template for this page - this way the home page of your website doesn't look like a blog.

The other way you can do it is to just have a normal html page as the index.html page of your domain. You can then install Wordpress in a folder.

I think the previous answers have given you half of the solution

You need to create TWO new pages. One that you want to use as your home page (home is an obvious name for it) and one that you want to use for your blog (blog being an obvious name here!)

      Then go to settings/reading

Set a static frontpage - choose the 1st new page you set up (home for example) to be your homepage

Second, set the posts page that will contain your blog posts - (blog for example)

Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading -> and then check the radio button to select a "static page". After that select a page and click on save changes.

    Hope this helps...
