Hey guys!

I am designing a website now, but the SEO folks want the design should be SEO friendly... They suggest me some factors. If you people share your thoughts and ideas here would be a great help for me for further proceedings!

Thanks in advance,
Karthi

    1) Almost every CMS has an SEO plugin / No CMS? Perhaps you do need advice from others.

If you will be creating html websites, try not to use many tables.. try to optimize your tags for each page.. google the term "onpage optimization" and you will get plenty of ideas..

CMS such as Wordpress are easy to use to build SEO friendly websites because of the number of SEO plugins such as Platinum SEO/AllInOne SEO. These allow you to enter Meta Tags for the Title, Description and Keywords. Google also loves Wordpress blogs and will come back to check for updates often.
If you are using software such as Dreamweaver, as the Warrior mentioned above, use tables only where necessary (i.e. to show data) and not to build your website with.
Make sure you add Meta data as for Wordpress, using different keywords for each page.
Use keywords to link internal pages together.
Use Alt tags for images and use keywords in the navigation and content.
Keep it clean and simple to navigate round and then google 'off-page optimization' cos your on-page optimization will be done!
    Good luck!

repeat your keyphrases a few times acounting for 4-10% of the words on the page, and have a long and hard think about about what your keyphrases should be...

Super Simple on page SEO factors:

Meta tags: Title (10 words, include main keyword)
Description (25 words, include main keyword at start and towards end)
Keywords (main keyword first, 4 to 8 variations)

html tags: <h1>one or two on page, include main keyword
<h2> one or two for each <h1>, include main keyword and variation
<h3> one or two for each <h2>, main and related keywords

images - wherever possible, include keyword in name of image, title attribute, alt attribute, and link

Text - use main keyword a few times in first 50 words of the page. Go for 1% + keyword density for main keyword. Add variations of keyword also. I find 4% density starts to sound like drivel and you'll wreck conversion, making ranking pointless (just my 2 cents worth - ymmv).

There's much more, but these basics will get you off to a good start.

I agree with Rovi, all good tips, just don't overuse your keywords or it will come off as spam/farming

When designing, you just need to make sure thatthe page will have a title, description and keywords meta tags. Also, you can add the title and the list of keywords at the end of the page to increase the density of target keywords. And, all pages should be accessible directly or indirectly from the homepage.

You want both. You want to do what you need to for the search engines like including your keywords in:

      Title tag
      h1 tag
In the first and last paragraph
Sprinkled throughout the rest of the page
Get some backlinks that use the keywords in the link

That is basically it and then write for your visitors. Don't make it sound formal and keyword stuffed -write as naturally as you can.
