Hi all.

I am designing a website for an associate who lives in Australia (I'm in the UK) and am finding it difficult to have a fluid conversation about the project. I have been telephoning him but it is costing me an absolute fortune. Is their a better way to contact clients who live overseas?

Also what is the best way to send large files over the web? i need to send a business logo, should i just post the image on a CD or is there a better way?

Thanks, Matt

    Matt,

Your best bet is to use Skype for communication. Ideally, you'll convince your associate to use Skype too (it's free) and calls from Skype to Skype are free. Even if it's just you using it, you'll only pay pennies using their SkypeOut service instead of a normal phone call!

In terms of sending files, you have a number of options:

    - You could use a service like YouSendIt (Google it)
    - You could use something like Amazon's S3 storage service
    - You could set up an FTP folder on one of your domains and use that as a place to drop files
    - You could use DropBox to do it all automatically.

Personally, I think you might find DropBox to be the best alternative. You get 2Gb for free, then can expand this by inviting others (i.e. your associate) to join. With this in mind, if you'd like an invite from me, please drop me a message!

    Hope this helps!

    Kind regards,
    -John.
