So I found a theme which I like other than that it has a big banner of it's name 'Warmth' plastered at the top which I either want to get rid of or replace with my site's name. How do I do it?

Is it an image? Replace it with your own.

    It's not an image.

Here's a link to the theme: WordPress › Warmth « Free WordPress Themes

Go to your image folder and replace it with your own logo

Use file manager or FTP to upload your own image and rename it to the same name as the existing logo which you will delete. Maybe good to keep your logo the same size as the existing logo as well unless you want to learn more coding!

    Upload your own logo

You may need to edit CSS if the size is different

Always hard work when using free themes

Pays to invest in a qaulity premium theme where you get 24/7 technical support and lifetime free upgrades

I've written a review of the best 7 premium themes/templates you may consider

Get Firefox and use fire fox to work on that theme. When you need to locate something in the theme that you are having a hard time finding, You can use the firefox addon called firebug. You just install Firebug and then right click on any item in the screen and it will tell you all about it. you also have the css optiond on the righjt. You can play with them to see live changes in yoru page without actually rewriting your socde or really affecting your site. As soon as you reload the page the changes are gone and back to normal. Give that a shot.

Also, if your tweaking a theme you really should be doing that locally using xamp. You just install wordpress on your pc and run it and do all of your design work and theme changes on your pc. Its much fatser than working thru an ftp. Let me know if you needhelp with that and I will make a video tut for you.
