Hello Warriors,

I am looking at jumping ship from Joomla to Wordpress for my current website and would like to know if this is a major task to perform? Is it a matter of cut and paste?

I have the sales letter page connected to clickbank for my down loadable E-book.

I also want to improve on the sales letter - I want a killer copy sales letter with a simple and effective theme.

Who would be the best person to speak to to achieve this goal at a reasonable rate?

BTW - I also want to create some free bonuses.

I am looking forward to your responses.

Thanks

Joomla is a good platform especially when you have lots of contents. I have previously switch from Joomla to wordpress for one simple site. You will need to copy and paste in sections into the different parts of wordpress. Basic HTML knowledge helps, in case something goes wrong. It was easy but tedious.
What is your niche, pm me I may have some PLR that I can give you.

Its not Super Easy as in Cut and Paste. However it can be done...which is saying something. When you are dealing with database driven CMS systems, their proprietary languages and structures often conflict and do not play well together. The easiest way to do this is to share the Database between both installations and migrate everything that doesnt switch over using the SUPER handy WP plugin Joomla/Mambo To WordPress Migrator (provided on WP site) its not that heavy of lifting. However be forewarned that you will have to edit your appearance on the WP side as the current thematic elements don't just migrate. You will have to set up a new theme on your WP install and all that rot.

        Good Luck Mate!

    Hi "Perseverance",
May I ask why you want to switch? I cannot think of a single thing aside of blogging that can be done in Wordpress that cannot be done in Joomla as well or better (and even blogging is not bad at all in Joomla). I have a web design firm and we make both Joomla and Wordpress sites so please don't think I am a WP hater or anything, I just think you may be putting yourself through unnecessary misery making this change.

If you can post some details about what is making you want to switch, you may get some good help here. Switching from Joomla to Wordpress is most defintiley not a cut and paste issue (other than copying the content of Joomla articles one-by-one into Wordpress posts)

I'll put my vote in for hiring someone to do this for you. A good Wordpress programmer can configure and get the site setup much better than a WP rookie could. WP isn't hard, but there are things that a rookie wouldn't know about that can really make a difference - beyond choosing the best plug-ins to use.
