Same products different URLs and website design

I want to make 10 websites(not worried about SEO) all with exactly the same products and content.

But I want 10 different URLs and and different colors and a couple pictures different.

The products, prices, product pictures etc all the same. I don't want to have to add each of the products, prices, pics etc one by one to all 10 sites.

What is the best way to do this?

Thank you in advance for any help.

It sounds like the best way to do this is to create the first one, use the export plugin to output your prodcuts and pics.

Then you need to install the other nine sites and import all your info including pics, etc. Then go in and edit indivual pics on specific sites.

That sounds like it would do it! Thank you for your time.

Unfortunately up until now I only have made sites using corecommerce so what you wrote looks like a foreign language to me

I really don't know what he was saying. I have only done websites using corecommerce.

I spoke with someone and they said I should have the same data info across the 10 sites so that adding a product would automatically add it to all of them.

Such as upload a product to the control panel and it would add it to all 10.

Honestly this is way over my head.

I am not sure if a forum post could answer this question. Without knowing a lot of details like your file structure or how much access you have to the database.

It seems to me that you could upload the file with the website in it and then copy and paste it ten times in different locations within your file structure. Then maybe you could put the products in a different directory (this directory should be protected) further up the file structure and have all ten sites able to access them.

Do you plan on using ten different domain names or are you using sub domains?

Sorry I guess I should have said 10 different Domain names rather than 10 different URLs.

I thought this would be a fairly usual thing. Sort of like having a website for each of your affiliates. But you process all the orders. Maintain all the sites etc. Your affiliate would just receive an email when an order is placed but would not have any access to the control panel.

I think that 10 sites with same content is not a good idea if you had heard of Google Panda just search on Internet if you don't want to waste your money .

    Hi Patrick,
Mark is right, check Google panda out before you spend money on this, ten identical sites will set the flags a blowing.

But the best way could be to install wordpress then build your site on one domain. You then need to install an export plug in to export your site. The next stage is to install wordpress on your other nine sites and import the first site.
I think you would be well advised to host your images on flickr or picassa for ease of importing.

WordPress is definitely the best way to go about this because of the "export" feature everyone is talking about. Are you familiar with it? If not, I can help you for a reasonable fee.

However, I must ask... if you're not concerned about SEO, what is the point of putting 10 nearly identical sites up?

Thank you for your time to answer.

I would prefer not to use wordpress as it is free and in my personal opinion is not as respected as a paid for website/host

I already have people who want their own stores and they already have customers. Just need to get the sites up.

rethinking this, perhaps I don't know about wordpress very well.

I should do some investigation. Thank you again Lucian!

Let me know if I can help you. WordPress, though free, is widely used and respected.

Thank you for the offer. May I respectfully suggest you look at your website with Firefox. The text gets cut off.

I looked into Wordpress and that is not what I need. That requires updating each of the sites when a new product is added.
