Hey guys,

I started my own hosting service a side project after a few business buddies of mine asked if I knew of a good hosting solution for them. I buy hosting at wholesale and sell it in my own package for a pretty inexpensive price.

I was wondering if anybody could give me some feedback on my design? Also, feedback on marketing would be a plus too! I'm pretty sure my "Get Hosted" page could use some work.

The URL is in my signature.

Thanks!

Hi Eric, your Service and your Information on your Page are very good. Maybe you should use a more "Hosting-Related" Theme. If you want i could help you to find realy nice Specific Themes for Free or low Budget ;-) Just send me a PM.

      Good point.

One thing I offer that makes me different is I help my clients get their online venture started. I offer a free coaching session that makes sure they know what to do next. I want to see my clients actually making money.

      Interesting...

Do you think I should go with a landing page? Something pitching my hosting plan and control panel, and the coaching that comes with my service?

Or should I go with a WordPress "hosting" theme?

I'm thinking a landing page would be better... It would help me stand out and not be just another hosting site.

      What do you guys think?

      Thank you!

Any ideas on how to make the "sales page" (hosting page) more appealing? Eventually I want to start advertising online and not just via word of mouth.

    Hi Eric!

    Only because you asked

I agree with the previous statements about sticking to one thing. I'm sure that it makes perfect sense in your mind, but it's tough to figure out what you do (and do well) from the site. Am I coming here for hosting? For guidance running my business? For media files? All great things- but I've never thought about them together logically, from a single place- and that makes it feel a little weird...

First impression: The site is clean and it's a great layout! Of course the image rotator in the middle grabs the attention first. Maybe consider using that first slide to tell them what exactly is it that you are providing for them? Same for the tag line. "Resources for the Successful Web Entrepreneur" is cool- but it's tough to actually define what type of resources and what type of web entrepreneur.

A few issues with the layout not behaving: I use FF and the bottom white bar is extending out into the black on the right side. Same with the text on the "Get Hosted" page.

All in all it looks good!

If you do not know much about html, css yourself, I would suggest you to use wordpress instead of creating your own "landing page".

If you decide to go for wordpress, you can simple find a really great looking design. check out this:

for adds and sales, make sure your product stands out much more than your design. many other sites, the theme is what most catches peoples attention, you can also look up some online surveys that talks about what color or shapes, and designs majority people are attracted to. That might give you some ideas to start off.

I agree. You need to change the template. Use other big companies like Hostgator, BlueHost, etc as your benchmark to create the new design. Whether you believe it or not, people make decision on purchase based on your website appearance. If it look good, they are more likely to buy. Just my opinion.

    Thanks for the feedback everybody!

I think I'm going to follow the consensus here and switch the theme over to something more "host-y" :-)

    Hi Eric,

I think your website looks great and professional, but I'd like to suggest a few things to make it more engaging:

    - I see you currently only use plain text for the logo, so I'd suggest you work more on that. A nice logo always gives a good first impression to the visitor.

    - I'd suggest you change the site slogan "RESOURCES FOR THE SUCCESSFUL WEB ENTREPRENEUR" as this is a commercial site and you're trying sell a service to the visitor, as opposed to only providing them with information and links.

    - In the Web Hosting section, I suggest you make the price more prominent (as this is your selling point). For example, you can use a larger font, with a different color, also move the price to the top. Additionally, instead of using the general text "which includes everything you'll ever need", you may consider listing the features of the package (similar to other hosting websites).

    - I'd suggest you consider changing the site menu. I think it can be done in a better way.

    - Finally, I'd suggest you remove the phrase "Wishing you Success and Happiness "

I think it's a really good start and with some improvements, your site will really stand out.

    Wish you best of luck!

      Thank you!

I've updated the layout and the hosting sales page.

      Any more feedback on that?
