Hey Everyone,

I'm adding disclaimers onto a few pages at the moment, but I don't want Google to read it as duplicate content is there any html to stop Google reading 1-2 sentances?

Thanks,

Sam

    Short answer is "no".

Longer answer is "no, and you don't even need to worry about it."

"Duplicate content" in the Big G's eyes means that two differently addressed URLs have identical content. Not just a sentence or two, but an extremely high percentage of.

So unless someone can get the exact same content from two different URLs, duplicate content doesn't even need to be on your radar.

Yeah duplicate content is a joke. Think about all the affiliate sites out there that all repurpose the same content. If you are not gaming Goog, then don't sweat it.

You def. shouldn't worry if the content you thought was duplicated is disclaimer info. If you had the exact same content say, on your home page and about page, then you might be in trouble.

It's true! For disclaimer you don't need to be worried abut using duplicate content. But it's advisable to avoid using duplicate content as using such thing you don't get any benefit and simply will get ignored by Google. But it's a case of disclaimer page....so don't need to give much importance! Try to be careful about content for other important pages...they must be unique and relevant.

I get around the duplicate problem by spinning -- you know, the { | } bracket thing. I have disclaimers all over the place that spin a few words, so content is unique each time the disclaimer appears.

Yeah that's a good question but you can't do this as you want. Its a impossible to stop spider to read content of site. Try to write unique content for different pages.
