      Sorry if I wasn't clear.
I buy domains often and I wanted to know for others where the cheapest place to buy domains is. I do not sell domains - I develop websites and often need domains.
I believe the cheapest I know of now is 1and1 for $8 per year.
Was wondering if someone else knows of a cheaper place.

Never look for a cheap domain registrar. You should instead ask which is the reliable one. Even the most expensive registrar will charge you $10-12. Would you like to risk your website in which you will invest a lot of money and time for a few dollars?

    Some options: Namecheap, GoDaddy, 101domains

I never knew there was a difference
Until now I have been using godaddy or 1and1

Godaddy has low prices for domains but don't use their hosting if you want to use wordpress, joomla or drupal, Godaddy is notoriously bad for having issues with these platforms.

domain registration cost should come second to hosting options!

Personally I've been doing sites since 1999 and these companies are on my DoNotHost list for poor customer service, difficult user interface when it comes to managing domain and site files, poor choice in ethics, and/or outsourced "help"

    1. GoDaddy
    2. Network Solutions
    3. 1 and 1
    4. iPower

Cost of domain means nothing - they are all around $10 without privacy, up to $20 with privacy.

To me what matters is the hosting packages

I only host my clients on BlueHost. I've been with them for 6 years and they have great customer service and are easy to work with and are all based in Utah, no outsourcing.

Name Cheap is a good one to try. I have been using them for a year and have had no problems. I have used GoDaddy in the past and have switched to NameCheap.

I would steer people away from godaddy. Lots of problems, especially with their forwarding service. It doesn't work a large percentage of the time.

    Cheap Domain and hosting services.
You should ask at Quality services at lowest price.
I will suggest godaddy for custom website as I am using it since last three years. But some of my friend says godaddy host is not so good for open source plate-form.

Cheapest is not always the best. The control panels vary enormously, not just in their usability, but in their response times. If you are buying many domains, and managing them, you definitely want to take both these factors into consideration.

    • I think godaddy is good. But it is all up for anyone whether what he really wants for a domain, there are some cheap domains but not really good and there are also quite expensive ones and it's really good.

I heard namecheap is pretty inexpensive although i've never used them. If you want to save on domain costs, buy a domain with an extension other than .com.

I recall .info's and some other extensions cost less?
