What information needs to be provided in order to get a quote for website creation?

In other words what do the graphic designers and coders need to know in order to give me a quote?

    From the top of my head, the main aspects might be (some might tie in with one another):

    * Nature of website.
    * Target Market.
    * Background to the business / individual.
    * What they Hope to achieve.
    * Number of pages.
    * Content / Features of pages.
    * Domain Name registration.
    * Hosting services.
    * Do you need a CMS?
    * SEO?

    I need a members area.... and the members area needs to be top notch secure. Would this fall under page features?

    You need to either buy a membership system or have something build from scratch. The cheapest and easiest way to do it would be to buy something like Kajabi.

    To create a good membership system from scratch you're looking at a 3k-5k investment at least.

    You've also posted somewhere else that you want a top notch shopping cart as part of this site, so that + a members area that is secure is going to up the cost.

    If you buy cheap you'll get cheap - in this instance expect to be reassured by quotes around the 5K mark.

      Yes that would be a feature . In this case the website would be from medium to very complex depending on what would the member area consist of .

      My recommendation is that you talk with your chosen designer + coder via voice chat . This way you'll be able to sync up the information .

      There are cheaper solutions depending on what you require from the members area .
