Very pretty, but there are way too many colors used for no good reason making it look overly complex. And one shouldn't rely too heavily on colors for meaning anyway (due to color blind people).

Design fundamentals says use as few colors as possible for a brand - keep it simple to 2 or three strong colors.

Allow your products to be the main source of color, therefore, the products will be more prominent to the eye which is what you want to achieve. As is stands, my eyes were racing around the image and the psychology of all this randomness creates distrust.

This is simply my opinion ;-)

    Apart from that, good stuff.

    Hi Eva,

I think it's a really good design, and agree with Paul - too many colours. Think about how Amazon works: no rainbows on their design

I would change the navigation and left-sided section headings to something really plain and simple (maybe a shade of grey?) so they're there but don't draw attention to themselves (maybe with the exception of the Specials - that needs attention).

I would also do away with the Shopping Cart block on the left - it pushes the Specials further down than it needs to be and you've got it covered in the top-right anyhow.

But the people who'll give you the best possible feedback are customers - maybe run some split tests.

Oh, and 'guaranteed' has two 'e's

    Good luck with it!

I concur there's too much colour.

      As a rule of thumb:

If your content is text rich, the template should be colourful.

If your content is imaged based (and colourful) then the template should be fairly bland.

In this case you need to tone down the interface to bring more visual attraction to the t-shirts.

Nice one, colorful, but it's too overloaded with colors. My eyes were racing around the image and the psychology of all this randomness creates distrust.
If this is your first attemt then it's too good. But next time don't use so much color and keep some space.

    Hey Eva!

I viewed your the live demo on your template site. All you have to do is change the nav bar to one neutral color/gradient, maybe even to match your right nav (ie search bar).

The sidebar header boxes can do with a neutral color, too. Blue is extremely calming, red raises the pulse (not a bad thing, my fav color actually). You can always visit Adobe Kuler for different views of color schemes, especially for fashion sites.

I see that you're using a carousel slider for the top and left sidebar/widget. Slidedeck or maybe a slider that would allow customers more control besides pausing on hover would enhance your interactivity and presentation.

    Consider the social links placement.

Would love to see the final product!

I'd go neutral on everything but the products. Let the tshirts pop out to entice more views on the things you are trying to sell. I do like the layout though and overall it is very appealing for a tshirt site that should be exciting and colorful.

It looks really good - I'd just suggest on reducing the number of colors. While colorful is good, it is possible to overdo it.

It's attractive I may say. With the use of vibrant colors, it can easily attract visitors. But yes, I guess, there's so many things to see in one looking. Make your contents bring focus.

      You're site is too busy.

I mean your T-shirts, (very colourful also) look great but would stand out of the page a lot better if the back round wasn't so busy. I need to be drawn to your product but don't know where to start. Banners and sidebars should guide me round your site not distract my attention.

You clearly must have a colourful personality, constantly smiling I think.

A few changes will give you better results, I'm sure.

The overall content looks good though...

      Keep smiling

I agree with the others that say way to many colors. When you first look at it your eyes tend to wander around at all the bright colors.

  • as you can see your T-shirt colors are very attractive and bright, so your menu bars are too much heavier with bright color. "your account" option should be in the upper side and in the right or left hand side.

honestly i like your site design. it will attract many younger in your site.

    thanks
