Which premium wordpress theme suits me the best?

1. I'm planning to change my free commune theme (thematic framework) to a premium theme, to have a more professional look. I've heard good feedback from thesis, genesis, woothemes, headway, etc. However, I don't know which suits me the best. My preferences are:
  • I have HTML(intermediate),javascript & CSS (beginner), PHP (very basic and limited) knowledge. Prefer a highly customizable yet easy to configure theme.
  • SEO optimized
  • Adsense/ads ready - banner, text ads, etc. (BTW, my CTR is very low currently, hoping to improve)
  • Social sharing button ready
  • Related posts with thumbnails
  • preferably magazine theme
  • clean & professional look site
  • fast loading time

I'm tired of editing and mess up with the codes on my tech blog (at my sig), thus I hope I can get a premium theme that is easy to customize. Thanks for any honest advice!!

2. Besides, do I really have to purchase a skin for thesis after I bought the framework? That will be pricey (framework+skin). If I don't buy any skin, I'm afraid the default thesis theme looks same with everyone who are using it.

Thematic is a fantastic WordPress theme framework. It's made by Automattic. Just because something is free, it doesn't mean it's not premium. Your theme can be transformed into a pretty good design with some changes in colour scheme and typography (please don't ask me how).

For Thesis, you will have to get a custom theme as well.

If you need to buy a theme, go out and search for it. Don't wait for someone to spoon-feed you. Only you know what suits your needs and taste.

Try themes from themeforest . Most of the wordpress themes are amazing and surely you would buy some1 just after seeing the demo.

      All the best

I didn't buy a custom theme for thesis, I use the framework to make my own designs. However, this is done using the custom functions and custom css options. It sounds like you may be able to handle doing this too. IMO my thesis sites don't really look anything like thesis, they're clients sites so I won't post them in the forum but you can PM me if you'd like more info .

I use Atahualpa 3.5.3 for quite a few of my client sites as well as my own. It is a free theme, extremely customizable, and has a great support forum.

There is a built in theme control panel that has over 200 settings which will allow you to replicate almost any site you ever come across.

Thesis is OK if you know PHP but is still difficult to work with.

I have a Portfolio on my site where you can see the many ways I have customized this theme for clients.

It is the only theme I'll use (unless the client says otherwise) and I have been doing this for a long time.

You can try the headway framework or use a professional theme from themeforest or woothemes. You can also view the commercial themes directory by WordPress for more providers to choose from.
