Default Penalized for Multiple Domains?

Hi everyone first of all thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond to this question.

I have several web sites all on different hosting accounts and want to combine them onto one account.

My question is that if I host multiple web sites on a single account, like at GoDaddy for example, whereas I think you just create a new folder in the root directory for each domain you want to host, does Google or the other search engines penalize these sites?

In other words is there a disadvantage SEOwise in hosting multiple web sites on one account (not a reseller account) or is it better to have an individual hosting plan for each one?

For all you multi-site owners out there, what is the best way to have several individual web sites each with their own domain name without spending a fortune on hosting fees?

Thank you,

Michael

Kahunka,

If you are hosting multiple site under one account the search engines don't know that. But it you are using one URL with multiple folders, such as:
Discover Independent Bands on the Internet. Listen to MP3 samples of there music. Our webcast is 7 PM Central Time Zone, Chicago, IL. USA. and is recorded for later listening. Find New Favorite Bands here at 440music.com Internet Radio All Indie Musi
http://www.440music.com/openads/index.php

Those will all be listed as 440music, but if you host using separate URLs such as,

www.timsc.net
www.440music.com
www.440music.net
www.truckerhotspots.com
www.watertowergallery.com/store

all of the above site are listed under one account that I use for logging in. The search engine know them as separate sites and won't penalize me even if the information is exactly the same on each site.

Hope this helps,
TBones

You can have thousand of website within the same hosting account.
But do NOT link each other. Links are counted for different C class.
Interlinking within same IP just hurt your rank.
