Program to create webpages from word-files

Hi,

I have a website with different articles on it.

I now have some articles in word format. Do you know a program that can create a webpage for me and name after the headline as well as use a template I use?
Furthermore it should also create a index file (with mouse over effect) with links to the new pages.

Do you know such a program, or one that can do either part of it?

Thanks.

Regards,
Thomas

Why don't you use CMS / Blogging platform for your site. Sorry, doesn't directly answer your question.

Following on from what rarebiz has said, publishing Microsoft Word documents as web pages and web sites is far from ideal. It's simple to do, but then you run into a million and one problems.

Your best bet is to set up a blog, using Wordpress or Blogger, and then you can copy and paste your articles across. Most of your basic formatting - bolds, italics, underlines - should be preserved, and if you've got any images, you can usually upload them seperately and then include or link to them in your article.

It requires a bit of work on your part, but the result is you'll still be able to publish your articles with little or no technical knowledge.

If you're able to share with us what your articles are, I'm sure some more experienced Warriors can suggest the best places to publish your articles etc.

Yes, for example ping feature of wordpress. Once you post your article, it will broadcast to search engines and aggregators. They rush to your site checking for update.

Building site manually is easy in front, but very costly in term of maintenance.

i don;t think there are any maintenance.. you just have to keep posting contents and promotion... may be costly but that what marketers do..

    Thanks for the input.

I already have a site running, it's a traditional website (not a blog), where I have formatted all the pages so they look the same.
    It's in classic asp.

What I need is more pages on this site. I already have the info in word files, but would like to create some new web pages automatically from these word documents so they are in the same format, code, etc., as the rest of my site.

    Does that make sense?

    Thanks, guys.

    Thomas

taking classic asp, make include files, one for the header, one for the footer and then simply include those two files into the content page sticking the content in the middle and voila. Very easy to do and that's how I manage several thousand pages at www.coastercrazy.com

I'm looking to make a seperate page for each article though.

    Happy New Year.
