Where can you get free icons?

I'm designing a site for a client and want to use some icons, are there any decent sites where you can use them for commercial use? http://www.iconfinder.com I've found this one, but still not totally sure if it is free to use the icons.

If you google "Open Source Web Icons" you should be able to find icons that you can use commercially in any project. Have a look at webappers dot com and check out their icons section.

if you urgently need icon you can go to iconfinder but if you are not satisfied with them you can go for google and if still not satisfied then i would suggest you to design them yourself.

search for free website icons in google - there are a ton of resources.

iconfinder.com is a good one - just select "Allowed for commercial use (no link required)" from the licensing dropdown

I often see sites using famfamfam for icons. That one you've already found is very cool though. Plenty of those galleries say free for commercial use.

umm why is this obsession with copyright in the USA?!! you know go to that website, Icon Search Engine | Iconfinder or search free icons in google or go to google images and type example apple icon png or apple icon jpg and keep them, i mean dude nobody is going to go to your website and ask you for permission to use an icon

I use the Icon Search Engine | Iconfinder advanced search feature for royalty free icons. Also picked up a few packs over the years as product bonuses and download packs from SmashingMagazine Smashing Magazine
