Hey Team,

Does any one know how to hide pages in wordpress.

For example if someone buys from you and you want to redirect them to a thankyou page, can you have that thankyou page in your wordpress site BUT not have visible in the header and footer etc

Thanks in advance

You can exclude pages from menus and widgets. Have a look under Appearance.

      Hey sandman

Your method seemed simple enough but it doesnt work for me, Its probably me not explaining it very well.

Basically i want a button on my blog that links to a payment page but i do not want the payment page visible in terms of in the header like all the other pages, If i make it private when people click the link it doesnt open becuase its set to private.

It only seems to link through when its set to public BUT i dont really want the payment page or thankyou page on display.

      Thanks

Hello again Chunky - or should I call you Mr Nuts ?

You are right about the Private page - only available to someone logged in.

If your not happy with using the WP Menu system, then you could use a plugin WordPress › WP Hide Pages « WordPress Plugins This allows you hide pages from view and search engines. When installed go to edit page and on the right hand side you will see a menu with various options.

There is an alternative by editing the code and excluding pages - but thats only if you feel comfortable with it

What you can do is make a new folder in the folder you installed your Wordpress in, and put index.html in it (index.html should contain our content, of course).

For instance: You have your wordpress site on domain yoursite.com. FTP to your domain and create a new folder, "thankyou" for instance. Then put index.html into "thankyou" and sent your visitors to yoursite.com/thankyou after they purchase.

Now you can edit index.html as you wish (header, no header,...). Hope this helps.

Latest WordPress themes make use of the "Menu" feature. You can create and set menus from WordPress dashboard. No need to install any plugin. Include the links that you want and remove the ones that are not required.
