One of the easiest ways to start will be to look at your own circle of influence. Let your family and friends know that you're starting a career in web design. Also, mention it on Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media profiles you may have. If you can land some jobs this way, you can ask your clients for testimonials and referrals. That will get some word of mouth going, which is very valuable.

If you need to, you might even consider designing a site for free for one or two clients. If you offer this, you can tell them that you'll do the design for free as long as they mention you to some of their business owner friends and associates.

      Good luck with your career!

if you are proficient at working with Photoshop then its really very good, also you can try learning DreamWeaver, HTML and Flash. It would help you a lot.

Hey, McTavish! I am self taught in web design and graphic design. I actually landed a job with a firm that's tops in their industry despite lack of 'work experience'. A good portfolio speaks volumes for your work. No matter how small of a project you have, always keep it as a visual reference for your portfolio.

    Good luck!
