Hey guys, I have done a lot of WP sites and I love using it. However, I now have a guy that wants to pay me to do an ecommerce site for him and I want to use Wordpress for it. However, I have some questions for you experts. Here they are:

How hard is it to:
1. Testimonials - Text and voice
2. Sign up to get specials (I think I will just use an autoresponder for this)

3. Create a user profile
4. Needs to integrate with Americart http://www.americart.com
5. Best sellers section on homepage
6. Featured products section on homepage
7. Quiz functionality

Thanks!

Did a quick search and came across this site which uses americart..

The designer claims "wordpress integration" but upon closer inspection, the Homepage is part of americart and they actually installed wordpress in a subdirectory /content/ . So you will see all the links like about us, etc are part of the wordpress install.

So the key will be to not promise wordpress functionality (or plugins) on any of the store pages, but on the content and blog pages only.

If you're really good at wordpress, you could maybe create some custom templates that contained only a widget, for example - and iframe them into the americart pages.

All of those are fairly straight forward except the cart integration. Depending on the amount of items your client will have I'd think more towards a WP Cart integration which would be more seamless.

Oh, and one more thing......my client insists on keeping Americart, which is what he uses on his current site.

Little late for a reply, but if you can get them off Americart, try a wordpress plugin called "shoppe" - google "wordpress shoppe"

        Cheers

Have you decided on the design for the website? Based on the design anything can be integrated. What you are asking is standard features.
