I want to know how my website is looking, some opinions would be nice

Im building this website from the ground up there is still much to be done, mainly core functions and navigational functions. Although if some warriors could take a look at the website and let me know how appealing it looks and if it has a good feel to it that would be good, the link is in my signature. Thank you warriors.

Well.... I guess you're looking for honesty.

Take into account I'm not a gamer, but:

I hate the background - it kind of makes me dizzy. But if that celtic theme is relevant to the games, I guess it's ok.

Not sure what MMOBud is, but it's not a very SEO friendly URL, and what's with the dog?

The search form needs to be moved - maye to the sidebar or nav bar.

Your homepage slideshow doesn't appear to be working

Gamelist page is broken, Previews page is broken, News page needs some padding and better font format

The empty forum is not good - no forum is better than an empty one

Contact Us page seems to be protected??

The sidebar needs some padding between each of your ads and the reviews.

Needs some serious love at this point.

IMO the background is cool for a gaming site. The only thing I think you should look at is apart from what Bubba said is the search box. The black outline at the top looks broken. All the best.

The dog happens to be my dog who passed away from a posioned dog food bag that came from china, and his name was buddy. The website needs work and as I said in my post that a lot of the functions weren't available and need to be done that being said your comment is left with 2 things. The search bar and some padding, sounds good to me I prefer to use a name for the website that means something to me that gives me motivation, some of the dumbest website domain names are popular and get crazy traffic.

mmobud is a Nice Website, Having Great Stuff!!
But There are Certain Things to be Changed.

    Thing Need to Be Changed
+ Keep the Social Icon to the Right Only, Rather Bring Them to the Right
+ Increase the Font Size of the Text in the Header, or Change its Colour or Easy Reading
+ You can Remove Those "Stars" from Username and Password. (Everyone Knows its Compulsory)
+ Give a Stroke to the "Inactive Tabs Text", then They will be More Easy to Read
+ I Think Your Slideshow is Not Working or I am Having a Network Problem
+ I noticed that While Going to the End of the Page, We cannot see the Text From the Page Nos till "Powered by Drupal". That is Not Good. Change The Text Colour or Replace the Background with Some Nice Gradient, Looking Nice to Our Eyes and Much More Colorful.

Overall your Site is Nice but Having Some Problem with the Design.

There has been some great advice in this thread so I won't go over it again. I have had a look at your site from the perspective of a potential MMO player.

I just don't like the background tile - It is very, very distracting (for me). Why not try a simple texture. Have a look here : Absolute Background Textures Archive

Also, your header and footer really need changing. The gradient fills really don't look professional. I would be tempted to have a professional header/footer created.

The logo - Hey the dog is cute and I am really (genuinely) sorry to hear about your dog - I am a dog owner myself and it must have been devestating for you. However, I think maybe you could remove the cartoon dog from the logo and replace it with something more relevant to the MMO theme. I am not trying to be insensitive here, just offering sound advice. There are plent of ways you could incorporate the dog cartoon into other parts of the site - How about using him as a logo for your search function?

Thank you as well, I plan on keeping the dog because he was very dear to me and he died a tragic gradual painful death. That being said, I'm going to have a About which will have the story on my dog and he also got a article in the newspaper in my town so I will include that all.

You asked about the look and feel, but you have a bigger problem. I looked at your site for about 10 seconds and cannot tell what you are trying to sell. So forget about the look and feel. Fix your message

Yeah, I am an idiot but you're too blind to get out of your own way. I got your message in pm. Man I try to give you some advice that will help you and you take the childish approach. Serves me right for wasting my time. If only you knew. Next time do some research before you call names. Because you may actually have someone who can really help you out.

I've been doing this longer than you've probably been tying your shoes...And I'm real successful at it. Authority site or not, you have no message and that doesn't convert. You don't know enough about marketing to realize that. What is the site about? Are you selling games, reviewing games, playing games online? How long do you think people will search on your site to find out. Guess what? 8-13 seconds.

Where's your optin? You don't know about that do you? Where's your stick strategy? You don't know about that do you? Where's your headline? You don't know about that either do you. Yeah, guess I am the idiot.

      Good luck

I think you're off to a pretty good start.

Gaming sites need a real "wow factor" and there's no better way than to reference what the big successful gaming sites are doing. I'm sure you're familiar with this one:

    Blizzard Entertainment

A lot of good planning and structure goes into a good site, and, in a way, you're taking on something has huge competition and graphics are a major factor--as well as compacting as much as you can on your Home page.

I've included the above link to give you an idea of what I mean, and although I'm not suggesting you copy everything, at the same time, I'd recommend you study the general structure of what they've done i.e. as a successful site.

Your background is quite distracting, and although you're looking for an "edge" and something cool, I think this is too intense and draws your eye away from everything else that's going on.

Again, I think you have a good sense about what you've done so far, but it would benefit from refining and making it look less like a blog--which is what it looks like to me right now.

Lastly, just a word of advice: If someone makes a stupid comment in a thread, you're much better off just ignoring it instead of biting back. I know it may be irresistible at times, but you don't want to jeopardize your standing in the forum over some dumb remark someone makes by getting banned or slapped by the moderators. I'm not saying that's going to happen to you, but if you get inflammatory in your replies, the administrators of the site or someone else may report it as it does cross the etiquette guidelines of the forum.

Good luck with it, and thanks for the story about your dog. Sorry to hear about what happened to him. I know what that's like i.e. having had dogs as real close buddies over the years. A personal touch like that may just add some personality and uniqueness to your branding.

    Cheers,
    Peter

I agree with what others are saying and i think your about half way there with the design, iam only a graphic artist so i really can make any suggestions as far as marketing but with the background i would suggest using popular games wallpaper, also try using some gel style buttons for the main menu items and dialogue boxs, and finally i think you should convert your logo to more of a vector style logo with less of a cartoon look.

Keep at it man iam sure you will get it looking great.
