Stats for potential clients

Anyone know good sources for stats to use when pitching why someone needs a web presence for say, small biz owners who aren't at all web savvy? For example the % of people who use the web to find types of services or businesses? Stats that show the % of folks with smartphones, meaning people who can quickly try and look something up, no matter where they are? That sort of thing.

For example I have let's say a potential dentist that doesn't have a website. I say "X % of people search the web when trying to find a service. If they Google "Dallas dentists" and you don't show up in the search, that's a potential customer you will lose because they'll be considering the ones that come up based on that search."

I'd like stats to back such things up as opposed to just saying "these days a lot/most people look online to find what they need."

I think regardless of the type business whether its a riding stable, a restuarant of an international business, having a website is no longer something that should be contemplated, its a MUST. When was the last time anyone used the yellow pages? Most people turn to the web, even to find a local business, if you don't have a web presence you are losing out on business, its as plain as that.
