which is the easiest way or software to edit a template without coding? I wish to purchase a psd template to build my site and I am being told that I should get Dreamweaver or Photoshop or similar? I have never used any of those softwares so I would like to know the best way to go here before purchasing the template? Thanks.

If it is a PSD template you are going to need Photoshop and figure out how to use it. Photshop is not the easiest program in the world to figure out, but it can be done. I'm proof.

Most templates I have seen come with html and psd files, html is to be edited with dreamweaver. However if you want to change tabs on the site you will want to edit the image in Photoshop.

As I stated in another thread, pick a program that does what you need it to and stick to it. Don't get caught up in trying to learn different programs, this will put you so far behind you wont get anywhere on your web design.

If you purchase a PSD template you are going to have to do coding ... well lots of coding.

I recommend that you purchase a html template and use dreamweaver.

Or the easiest way out is to get a wordpress template with lots of option. That way you will not need a lot of coding.

How knowing simple bits of code will help and be prepared to put some time to learn some new code with any option you pick

Best program to edit templates is in Vim. It has both Open, Edit, and Save functionality all in a single program. What more could one ask for?

If you are looking for a free and easy to use HTML editor check kompozer editor. It is available for all major operating systems.

    hi skyvia,

if you are purchasing the template design in .psd format then you will have to get an adobe photoshop which will help you to slick the pictures that you can use in html.

you can also buy adobe dreamwaver but that's also a costly software where you can edit your html codes. but i would suggest that before investing in dreamweaver you can check out kompozer. check out my post by clicking here ==> "what is the difference between kompozer and dreamweaver"

you can see that i have replied to this thread .

hope this will help you to decide if you want to buy dreamweaver or go with a FREE alternative software.

Well The Easiest Thing You Can Do is Outsourcing

If You are Willing to Spend Some Money, Then:
    1. Go to Themeforest.com and Buy a Good Theme
    2. Hire A Content Writer and Prepare the Content Of Your Website
    3. Hire a Web designer and Let Him Do the Coding Part.

If You Don't Have Money. Then:
    1. Search The Net Deeply and Find A free Professional Theme For Wordpress.
    2. Sign Up For Wordpress And Build Up Your Blog.
    3. Write A Nice Article For It.
    4. Keep Learning The HTML And WordPress From w3schools.com

    Go Slow But Go Good!

If its PSD like others said you need PhotoShop. Might be easier to get an HTML/CSS site then you can just use something like Dreamweaver - much easier to use.
