Moving from BigCommerce to Interspire

Hi all,

I started out in ecommerce by getting a bigcommerce store (due to the ease of use - i had no clue about anything when i started). I now want to move my store to host it on my own server so that i don't have topay BC monthly installments, but i don't know enough about scripting and designing to start completely from scratch with something like OScommerce.

I was looking into the interspire shopping cart because it still maintains alot of the functions i'm used to with BC but gives me the ability to edit what i want (and learn slowly whilst i do it).

Does anyone know how easy it would be to transfer a custom template from Bigcommerce to Interspire?

    I just did a google search for "how to transfer bigcommerce to interspire" and the results showed that there is companies out there that actually can do that for you, as far as template, customers, orders, etc. Also it looks like there is a forum topic in Interspire's forums showing you how to do it as well.

    Another suggestion would be emailing or calling Interspire support. As BigCommerce is probably one of their biggest competitors, I bet they get that call a lot. They might even help you out just to switch to them.

    Bigcommerce is actually a product of interspire - the only dfference is it being hosted by them or liscensed to use it yourself as you wish.

    Sorry about that, I misread. The solution would be:

    1. Download your template files from BigCommerce
    2. Install the same template on Interspire
    3. Overwrite the Interspire template files with the BigCommerce template files


    Are you wondering this to try BigCommerce licensed and then potentially switch? If they are made by the same company switching over shouldn't be too hard I would bet.

    The interspire shopping cart is at a different version level to BC and so they are not directly transferable.

    Could really do with someone who knows what they are talking about answering up on here.
