Best Free Wordpress Photo Gallery Plugin?

Hi, everyone
I am in the process of designing a Wordpress website that requires a photo gallery. I am looking for a free Wordpress photo gallery plugin that I can integrate in my Wordpress site. I want to have both still photos that can be clicked on (they can be thumbnails), a slideshow, and an area for descriptions of the photos. There are lots of free wordpress plugins that offer photo galleries, but I wanted to get everyone's advice on what they have found works best and why. Thanks for your input!

    My suggestions is NextGen Gallery, the most popular free gallery plugin for WordPress. It has all the features you want, something like all in one solution for photo galleries. It's highly customizable also.

      That is what I have decided to use. The biggest problem that I have now run into is that I'm getting a fatal error that I have run out of memory and cannot upload any more photos, and now I'm trying to figure out how to fix it.

    You can try the solutions told at the URL below, especially the last one. Many people increased their php memory limit, but it may still cause problems with very large images, so it seems solving the problem with the GD library mentioned at the last post in the URL is the real cure.

    Nextgen is the one indeed. No other came close but it does eat up resources Time to upgrade hosting maybe ?
