Help de-indexing subpage in Google

Hi,

Currently I'm using wordpress for my page.

If I change the URL of a subpage on my site, will the old subpage URL just go away naturally, and not be indexed by the search engines after time? Or do I need to do something in WP dashboard?

When I changed the URl on the page, the old one still shows up in the SERP's, but it's blank with no text.

The new one shows in the SERP's as well, but I'd rather have the old URL not be indexed anymore.

Thanks!

    hi,

you can create an account in Google Webmaster Tool and submit your website there with a sitemap.

you will be able to find a link in the Google Webmaster Tool where you can submit a request to Google to remove the pages from their search cache which usually takes approx 24hrs.

hope this helps to solve your problem.

    kindest,

It seems like you are missing OP's actual question. He is asking about removing the link from getting indexed. He doesn't want the old URL to be indexed anymore.

@OP As said, you may signup for Google Webmaster Tool and ask them to remove the link. If the page is still upload on the server then you may disable it in the robots.txt file.

Just sign up on Google Webmaster tools and submit your URL which you don't want to be get indexed anymore. Second thing is that use a 301 redirect method to redirect the users and crawlers from your old URL to new URL so that users can get updated information.
