Hello Guys,

I have just checked my site in search engines developed few days back with xsitepro...Having problem in index page...

Instead of showing Title and Descrition for the Domain it's showing something like this in Google when i check my site as site:mysite.com

Index of / (Here Should be the Title)
mywebsite.org/ - Cached
Index of /. cgi-bin/ · images/ · postinfo.html · mywebsite.org/
(Here Should be the description)

Otherwise site load properly...I have checked with my hosting company they says all pages in right directory still getting this problem...

Can someone clarify please why is it happening so?

REgards...

Are you redirecting your home page to another page? Did you add a title and meta description tag? We'd have to see the site in order to fully help you.

    .

This should be an easy fix in the source code on your index page. Have you recently changed the Title tags or did something in the code? Or did you publish it and that is how it is appears? Normally this happens when a site is not published and it appears like that. You may have a file that is in the wrong spot too.

If you want insurance quotes then check out one of the best ways to compare at http://www.autoinsuresavings.org and your insurance costs could be reduced to more than you think?

It sounds like you may not have had an index page there before and your hosting had it set to show file directory in event of no index page, and for whatever reason that Title and Description have been cached by Google. I would guess you just need to update the cache, which you can do if you have your site set up on Google Webmaster Tools (which you should anyways if you haven't already) and indicate the URL of your site's XML sitemap. If you don't have a sitemap, perhaps check in XSitePro help to see how to create it for the site. I used XSitePro for a site long ago and didn't run into the issue you're having and unfortunately I don't remember what the deal was with sitemaps on it.

New and updated webmaster tools should be used while developing the website, these tools updated by search engines frequently.
