How to test the Paypal 'Buy Now' button function?

I have just created a Buy Now button. After the customers pay me for the products, they will be redirected to the download page. How can i test this procedure? I contacted paypal about this problem but their response didn't satisfy me.

    We always just do an actual purchase with another paypal account & then just refund it afterward.

    Have a friend go to your site and go through the process of purchasing and downloading the product.

    After they have, issue a refund.

    Get their feedback on:
    - Do all the links work
    - How could the process be improved

    Hi baokhau,

    Unfortunately, paypal doesn't provide that many great testing options. When i'm testing for my clients, i usually temporarily set the price to 0.01 so you don't have to worry so much about refunds.

    They do have a developer's account you can set up and test payment scripts with but, in all honesty, it's a lot easier to just do the 1 cent thing.

    You should be able to enable sandbox or test mode which will allow you to process your payment at zero cost.

    Sign up for developer account: https://developer.paypal.com/

    This allows you to create a 'test' buyer and seller account. And you can make sure everything is working. You get fake money for these accounts. When you are ready to go live simply replace the test paypal seller account in your code with your real paypal account info.

    Once your email is correct and the email links redirects to the paypal page with your product name and price then you are done.
