Why use aweber? Real question.

I am setting up my first website and all the gurus I read all say to use aweber. But now I find that every Shopping Cart has (what appears to me) to be the same list capture / email / autoresponder facilities as aweber has.
Obviously there is a good reason why the top people have aweber on top of their existing shopping cart. I am just wondering what it is.
My best guess is that aweber has advanced facilities for massive lists which I am unlikely to need for years. Am I right?
Genuine question. Totally mystified. Thanks for your help.

One consideration you may want to take into account: If, in the future you decide to move your list over to Aweber, they will allow you to do so, but they will insist on everyone on that list opting in all over again.

I've heard of several people who have had their lists decimated because of this requirement.

My best guess is Aweber is a lot easier and their TOS isn't strict

Aweber is one of the best autoresponder system available. Plus their IP addresses are whitelisted so emails sent thru them will not go directly into the spam boxes or blocked by the ISP companies as easily as emails sent directly from your hosted website.

    Hope that helps.

Aweber is a certainly one of the easiest to use which is a big plus.
But as already mentioned - your email wont be spammed which has to be the biggest plus!

Thanks to all those who answered my question. This type of information is only available within eMarketing circles. My computer consultant had no idea. Best wishes.
