Hi all.

I have never used word press before or as yet, i want to set up a site with multiple products for sale. I keep geting told to use word press for the site as it has evolved to cope with this type of site, However i have also been informed that wordpress.com is just mainly for indevidual blogging and wp.org is where would get a theme from for my site.

Is this correct ?, Oh by the way again i was told to use Joomla or drupal instaed of word press, are they a better cms than wp ?.

Sorry for my ignerance in this catagory.

    wordpress.org is where you would download the wordpress script, mods, themes etc.. to install on your own webhosting/domain. Wordpress.com is for building a xxx.wordpress.com hosted site.

    Not really.

    At wp.COM you can create a free blog... and they can freely delete it - in case they don't like it. And they don't allow commercial use.
    WHY people never read the TOS?

    From wp.ORG you download the WordPress script, themes, plugins etc... for use on your own domain/hosting.

    Wordpress.com is individual blogging site from Wordpress where you can start your own blog site just like blogger.com but you can not use your blogpage from wordpress.com for commercial use.

    Wordpress.org is official site of Wordpress where you can download script, get updates, themes, plugins and also any kind of support related to wordpress script.

    Regarding Joomla & Drupal they are also better CMS but not as good as Wordpress as of what i think. B'cos in wordpress everything is already available all kind of themes, plugins for your any web development related need and most of them are absolutely free.
