Default Sub domains and search engines

This is my first question/post and I would like to know if someone can tell me if I use a sub domain with my current main domain will the search engines pick up the sub part of the URL or do they simply see the main domain? Ex...my domain is cammnet.com. If I were to make a sub domain such as greatebooksDOTcammnetDOTcom will it help in getting the search engines to pick up the key words?

Any help is greatly appreciated before I go off the hook and start creating a bunch of subdomains if it doesn't accomplish what I'm trying to do which is get my key words noticed in searches.

Thanks in advance...Tom C
