Wordpress news feed plugin suggestions?

I know I can use the default RSS widget for wordpress and grab lets say feeds from Reuters or NY Times or something...

But I am looking for something a little more intuitive if possible.

Firstly, I am looking for something that will grab a thumbnail along with the news headline.

Second, it doesn't have to pull from just 1 feed, if it does that is fine.

Third has to be a widget, not in posts or pages...

Any suggestions?

    See, I know of one for Joomla, but not WordPress. There are so many more powerful plugins for Joomla than there are for WordPress. This particular plugin I'm thinking of in Joomla actually takes feed/news/content whatever from X site and puts it on Y site (your site). Is that what you're after?

      Yes, sort of. I just need what you described for a sidebar widget. Headline, thumbnail, excerpt.

    May I add this as a suggestion. I use it and it for word press and any other web page I want to get feeds. It is called carp and fairly easy to set up. It is free to use. Here is the link to it. geckotribe.com/rss/carp/info/bonus-carp-wp.php

    Give it a try. I have a page full of rss feeds for fun... here with carp in use as an example todaysurvivalist.com/rssfeeds/feedmain.php
    It is a lot of fun to use. I hope this helps.
