Ok, I want to start a new Wordpress blog at Example.com.
But in the future, I want to move this entire blog
to Example.com/NewDirectory
Is this easy to do?

Also, is it be possible to run one WordPress
theme at Example.com and an entirely
different
WordPress theme at Example.com/NewDirectory?

It is not very difficult to move a WordPress website from one domain to another or from one web server to another. In the first instance, it involves moving the files and database to the new destination and then changing the old URL with new one--both in databse entries and in blog settings. You can use a "Find Replace" wordpress plugin for this. When moving servers, you don't need to change any URL. Just move the files and database.

You CAN run multiple WordPress websites in multiple subdomin or sub-directories of a domain. You can use WordPress' multi-blog feature to get it running. You can also install WP in each sub-directory or sub-domain, but it isn't recommended.

Yes, if you know how to move it.

No, if you don't know how to do it.

Here's a script that will do it with ease from Jason Fladlien and Wil Mattos.

You can move your blog. I recommend using backupcreator.com by Robert Plank (not an affiliate link). It's a wordpress plugin and backs up EVERYTHING (the database, the plugins and all the content). Saves a bunch of time and it's super simple to use.

You can add as many blogs as you'd like as subdomains (i.e. example.com/blog/) but you will have to do totally separate setups with separate databases.

          Hope that helps.

Backup Creator only works for a small group of people that pay the higher price, if you acted early and paid lower you will not get any support and the plugin will cease to function.

May I add that there is an import, export function. it is under the tools heading. I have used this to move my blog from one domain to another. It works pretty well up to a point. If you have too large of a data base it won't do it over 58 k I think it was. Also it has a problem if there are youtube videos in the posts, they didn't seem to come through the transfer. I hope that helps.

I found this (and all of the written support on their site) to be very confusing for those of us who don't know much about this stuff.

If you aren't comfortable with things like database backups and whatnot, I'd recommend getting a plugin like Backup Creator which backups up everything in your site and allows you to create a new site from that backup.

Otherwise you are going to be downloading and uploading your database and for some people that can be confusing.
