Hey warriors
I'm looking for some constructive criticism for my very 1st WP site.
I use WProbot3 for content which can be hit or miss at times & various plugins but my seo isn't very well optimized as yet.
I don't have an RSS feed for it as of yet can anyone suggest one or is feedburner the go?
Thanks in advance

This has been happening far too often for my liking; my site is hosted by brainhost & when I brought this to their attention, they said it was all cool when they checked

      • Note the RSS feed doesn't work.

There are several typos. Here's one of the really noticeable ones: ". . . and they are:• Dry Steam power stations . . ."

I'd suggest making blank hyperlinks for the Links page so each one opens in a new tab instead of drawing the visitor away from your site.

Would you consider writing more definition articles like "Sustainable energy" from 10/6/11? If you wanted to, you could combine your blog with articles for beginners, like making a blog site form of the Alternative Energy for Dummies book. Giving an outline of the whole basic system of knowledge for alternative energy.

And maybe other forms not as well known, like energy from bacteria (as I read on your site). And magnetic generators. Like the kind the two Australian inventors made that you can fit in the trunk of your car, though no financiers have picked it up for whatever reason (a recent quick read). I know nothing about alternative energy but am interested in it. If you filled out some more about it, that would be interesting too, especially for novices like me.

Only speaking as a novice I'm not sure I'd come back to the site, even though I like the way it looks and articles I read or scanned. Please understand I'm trying to be helpful by being honest in saying that. It's a good site, but more content would be great.

Two good Web hosts, maybe in Australia too, are WebHostingHub.com and InMotionHosting.com.

Many thanks to all that have helped, I appreciate everyone's input & will endeavor to improve what is in reality only a hobby as I've no real idea how to manage its upkeep or monetize my blog.
I've fixed my RSS feed & proofreading by Peddo was informative & welcome. clickbump's tips are so advanced they went str8 over my head!

            Hi Happyjack68,

I would like to have it with mint green that will closely match with the content of green energy.

With regards to connection timed out, my experience was due to some script. So if possible, minimized so much script. Or perhaps check for some script bugs.

Looks fine to me. A few comments to hopefully help:
    1. Consider optimizing your theme. You have over 100 lines of code before the first word of meaningful content that a human or search engine would find useful. The extra markup is diluting the impact of the actual content.

    2. You have lots of scripts (javascripts) referenced in the head section. Best practices call for scripts to be deferred, are ideally located at the bottom of the document just before the closing "body" tag.

Reserve the head section for linked external stylesheets and any directives that MUST be included for the viewer to begin working with the site immediately and defer everything else to the footer of the document.

    3. If you are looking to monetize this site, consider moving the main ad block over into the content. Sidebar ads of the type you currently are displaying are largely ignored.

    4. The graphic slider you have at the top of the content is a good idea, however, its poorly executed and there is no call to action. The graphics are somewhat dark, bland and uninviting.

Consider implementing something like this, which is lighter, more cohesively stitched into the layout and seeks to draw the viewer into the site. The use of subtle gradients and border shadows also help draw the viewer into the site and lead the eye to the call to action heat zones.

For this slider, I'm using one tiny little javascript. Your site appears to have about 10!

    5. Overall, you want to over-deliver on content value, usability and speed. Make sure everything you do is building up one of these 3 and you'll have a great site.

    Hope that helps!

I like it but I think you should consider redoing the header, it seems a little outdated to me.
