Help Me With Your Best WP Plugins to Build a Membership Site

Hello fellow warriors,

I'm making my first real product and I'm a little overwhelmed with all the things you need to buy. I've seen some free stuff like Delavo for processing, but I really have no clue how to actually put together a good site without paying an arm and a leg on how to do stuff without paying every time I turn around.

I just see so much stuff from nanacast, to this plugin for memberships, and it goes on and on, and honestly I just need help!

What are the best membership site plugins, as well as the best ways to pay and track affiliates, and all that fun stuff to help this poor idiot out! I'm really looking for free or cheap ways to do this if you know any!

Thanks!

Hi, I have used Download Guard, as it is good for keeping the sale of your digital products secure, and it also allows you to create a membership site using its software. However, the owner is still in the works of developing the affiliate part of the program. I know others have used JRox Jam for an affiliate program. Right now, I'm currently considering:Products | Tips and Tricks You can get the shopping cart, the affiliate platform, and the membership plugins (if you buy all of them, you can get them at a discounted price compared to buying all of them separately). Hope that helps.

Regarding the Infinity Theme from tipsandtricks-hq, do not buy it.

It looks crap, it's old, you maybe better stick to something fresh, cool, ...

Basically it is a normal theme with a featured post slider and a "forum", a simple bbPress ...

If you need a blog with forum you could check WooThemes, they have an eCommerce section where they offer their "WooCommerce" stuff for FREE.

If you need any help with WP yon can PM me, I know WP pretty well

I use Thesis for the design purpose of my membership site.

You can also find FREE thesis child theme for a quick site development.

Then I use wishlist member plugin. This is a highly used membership site plugin.

Also I have WPDrip plugin and this one is used for dripping content to your members.

That's all I use to run a successful membership site.

If you need a simple membership site- with protected content and clickbank integration for payments and affiliates, wishlist plugin with wordpress works well.

For more complex soultions- eg you control the affiliate network, multiple payment options etc.. I prefer amember / wordpress.

So for you, i'd say wordpress/wishlist/clickbank/aweber will work fine.

            Hi helpmePPC!

Here is a list of WP Mebership plugins I know:

            • s2Member - this is a FREE plugin that actually does more than some paid ones. It has a Pro version as well: s2MemberPro
            • WP-Member - quite simple and cheap plugin
            • WishList Member - this one seems to be the most popular on the net, possibly, the best documented one and the most expensive. The main disadvantage of it, as for me, (actually I have bought a license but are not using it due to this disadvantage) is the fact it does not allow to protect folders and files... It is very strange for a well-paid plugin. So, if you need to protect just posts, categories, pages - you can use it. If you want to protect downloadable media - it is useless. Same with wp-Member. I did not used s2Member actually, but I tried it and even a free copy does have some basic folder protection features. The Pro version should be even better.
For my own TheTheFly.com WordPress Club I am using the Omni-Secure membership management software that is a stand-along package but can be integrated with WordPress through the bridge plugin that is included with the pack. The main advantage - it is quite complex modular software with a lot of payment integration plugins and it is open source PHP software - so, it is highly customizable!

You can also have a look at the industry veteran, Perl-scripted aMember. It is used everywere for decades, I think. I tried it more than a year ago, and did not buy it just because It was written using Perl and encrypted without any possibility to customize a member area. But it should be one of the most stable one.

To tell the truth, I think that an ideal WP plugin is still on its way to the market... I even have my our membership plugin technical specification draft and an idea to develop such a plugin in the future. It should combine the best features of Omni-Secure, s2Membes and WishList Member... Hope this will be of help for you.

          Hi
Thanks for your points. I just required them. One question: Any wordpress theme will do the job with Wishlist plugin? and can be used WPdrip plugin too?

Just wanted add my own membership plugin for WordPress to the lists above.

Paid Memberships Pro is available for free in the WordPress repository and stacks up well against the competition. Our philosophy is to make a simple setup simple to setup while also allowing more in depth customization via little bits of code.

Just search the WP plugin repository for "Memberships". (I can't post links yet.) :p

The plugin is 100% GPL. We don't charge for any of the code, modules, etc. If needed, you can pay for support and hosting services at PaidMembershipsPro.com.

    Thanks.
