I'm looking for someone to do a LAYOUT-ONLY design critique of my new site.

    I dont think its too plain, I just think from a user point of view it looks good for colors. I do agree the logo could be better.

    I personaly would ad some content and make it look as near to the end product as possible,you will get better results for coments and save time doing it bit by bit,i understand this thread is for layout but theres not much to coment on realy,font is ok for me,you might want to think about having your navigation at the top,above or just under the header, if the page is going to expand down would the user be able to find your navlgation.

      I suggest replacing the curse word **** in "Like Our ****?" with something non-profane. Some might not like that.

      The strength is the layout's simplicity. It's very clear and very easy. And the concise explanatory text works well. Maybe like seomagic says it would add more distinction with some kind of header—perhaps also a simple but striking one. Like, what kinds of images would pleasantly invite you into a search for finding textbooks? So that you'd really want to even more?

    Oh by the way, asking some one if they like your **** , are you trying to get your visitor to leave as soon as they arrive, this could be seen as offensive to visitors and not good if you want to promote a proffesional site.

    Asking some one if they like your **** seems at bit childish for this type of site, again this is only my personal opinion.

    i liked the color combination, but its look too simple you should add more things on that.
    adjust the font size and alignment.it will look more better.
