Fixed vs. Fluid Header Graphic

Is it possible to have a fluid width website and also use a fixed width header graphic? I know you can do this if your header doesn't include pictures but if it does is it possible?

    Yes.

    Have a look at this template News Portal Preview - Designs by Darren. You can download the template and see how he does this.

    I bumped into this sometime back. If I remember correctly, you make a smaller than 'normal' image. Float it left, right or center it. Set the background to a workable image or color.

      In order to do this with an image you need to use an image that has a background color and is only about 1 /5 the width of your header div so you can set a background color in the div where your header is. so what you will do is set your image to one side leaving the rest of your header div with just a background color where you can put your site name and title etc..
