Hidden links how did they get there

WEB DESIGN

I was getting some info from google webmaster forum about something and when they were giving me the answer they also added that my site had hidden links and gave me this code and said it wasn't good to have it in my site. I didn't put the code in but does anyone know what this code means and since I didn't put it there how it could have gotten there. Thanks Mark

Hi,

If you're running Wordpress, it could be injection spam, although the link is relative so it more likely is part of a template. Get rid of it and see what happens.

See if there's a file veniceourfirstday.html on your root folder using FTP

It's not pointing to outside (outbond link), but it's alien, so remove it.

How it got there most likely put by whoever created the theme/template you use

Are you using a "free" theme (if it's a WP site) that you found somewhere on the net?

After doing a lot of research I think it is on my web editing program called serif. I looked all over my site to try and figure out what it is and found out it is in the nav bar. If I go into the program and move the nav bar off the page onto the working background the code vanished but so does my navigation bar. I am not really sure why this is doing this why would the people who put this together want the stuff to be hidden.

  It's only hidden from visitors but not for search engines and other bots.

According to the people at the google webmaster help center they are hidden from being crawled that is why they told me it wasn't good to be hidden.
