Hi

Just created our first weekly deal.
Edit: New member, so can't post a link, can I work around it without being banned?

Any suggestions on how to improve it? We're targeting keywords: "buy cheap website", "buy affordable website" etc. I'm going to do some more keyword optimisation today.

I want to split-test, but not sure where to get the traffic from. My first thought is to use CPC advertising and split-testing the visitors, but I can see that getting expensive quickly.

I've thought about purchasing traffic as well - I don't see this as a reliable source though, I expect many of these services will be popup/popunder type services and can't imagine many people actually bothering to look at the ad before closing - so the results will be skewed.

Start getting backlinks from the high PR and reputable forums and blogs relevant to web design and web auctions etc to drive targeted traffic of expected buyers. Use your social network on facebook, linkedin, twitter etc.
If you want to buy paid traffic than Google adword will be the best to improve you business.

    Hey minion,

can't see your webpage as you couldn't post the link - but the keywords you mentioned are pretty competitive, so maybe you should try to go for some long tail keywords.

It sounds like you're pretty new to the game, so if you're using PPC and other forms of paid advertisements, make sure to always cap your ad spending because money runs fast....

    Cheers,
    Rob

You can post it in the example.com format - without http and/or www

hey ur website design looks cool !! u could do on page optimisation first to enable google recognize ur website for the targeted keywords !! then u could do ethical off page optimisation by creating backlinks in white had technique. this way traffic ll be driven to ur site..

Thanks - I'll work on that. I do want to keep the SEO completely whitehat, so I'm just leaving links where ever I go. Also trying to post an article every couple of days, so hopefully that'll generate links back.

I've still got some tidying up to do, so I'll do on-page SEO at the same time. I've sort of shifted my focus away from the landing page for now - I was thinking of it as my primary source of leads, but now it's just a backup and I'm actively searching for clients both online and offline.

Laws make this a little difficult though - I can't cold-email without breaking the law, so have to talk to local clients on the phone first. But anyway, feeling a lot more confident about the whole thing.

      Thanks for the reply
