I am thinking of creating a movie website (Not like Youtube or metacafe). A website for full length online movies and reviews.
I know little about java script and html. So i cannot make a website by using these languages. i want you to guide me that which is the best cms available for creating that kind of website. And also i dont want to use wordpress.

I want to make a website like
solarmovie.eu

waiting for your quick response and thanks for your time.
#cms #movie #website

Wordpress would probably be best for this with a premium movie theme. I had a movie site like that..but since you don't want WP try Joomla!

I believe icefilms runs on joomla, and I love joomla.
I won't give you the icefilms link, you can figure that out, but the short story is thousands of videos (movies, tv series, documentaries...)
Joomla is pretty versatile, did I mention I really like it?

      Cheers!

I would recommend WordpPress because it is user friendly and SEO friendly. You don't really have to be experienced to use WordPress on your website. There are a lot of themes and plugins available.

If you're planning on having a heavy site, like bwhosting said, you may want to look at joomla or even drupal.

For making attractive and user friendly movie site you should use Joomla. It is a powerful CMS software. You will find a lot of premium joomla template for building your site. On the other hand you may hire any Joomla specialist for building custom website from freelancing sites like elance, freelancer, odesk, etc.

    couple of days.

themes... the best joomla themes i find and use for my sites are at.

it's a paid membership but worth it.. as u get access to all templates based on a yearly subscription

well, honest answer don't use joomla or elese wordpress, instead opt for Code-Ignitor or else any other PHP framework.

Reason: More control and not that difficult the developer has good understanding, I mean a developer will not need to work from scratch level, as there are controls already defined in such framework. In customer viewpoint more usable and accessible.

That is a good thinking. I can use my JS and Php knowledge to that. But it will take a lot of time......

Drupal is a complex CMS but you can do wonders with the framework. I come from a Drupal environment so I speak from experience. I've recently started using wordpress and it's a good CMS as well, but if you want to build a full fledged portal then I would look into Drupal.

    Good Luck!

I think you should built it from scratch especially if you want to make it scalable and expandable from the structure point of view. wordpress has only 2-3 types of pages for its inner structure and this is somehow very, very limited. If you want it to become a big website in time then you should definitely think of some automation processes for getting and posting data and not only.

You know, i can give you a lot of reasons to use Joomla
and same reasons i can give you for use WordPress
Wp nice to use, Joomla nice too. If you are profi, i think you can find something bad for each CMS. But and if you are profi, as i think, it's never mind what you will use. because everything will be easy and simple for you.
For example i use just DENVER and notepad++ )))it's enough for me. I like CMS but it's don't give me chanse to make unique designe.
Use what you closer and do not listen to anyone)) I hope you will succeed. By the way, when your web site will be done, download the following links please or sent it to my email. ))

You can try Joomla, if offers better support for multiple transactions. A little harder to use on the backend than Wordpress, but it's worth it. A great resource is CMSHelpLive.com. You can contact them by submitting a support ticket, and they will respond to you within 1 hour and you can go live with them to ask any questions.

Definitely Joomla!!!! Joomla is not very technical to learn, it has some concepts that you need to understand before you can use its full potential.

There are several video guides available to learn the same. Also there are a many modules and components you can use to create an awesome website.

Infact Joomla out of the box itself is quite a complete Membership Website. You will have to purchase a payment gateway integration (none of the payment gateway integrations are free).

    Best Regards,
    Santosh
