Wordpress w/ open registration & posting options

Hello warriors,

I would like to set up a site where visitors can register, create an account and make a post, with restrictions.

However, I would like to lock down their ability to create new categories etc., and I would like to approve all posts before they go live.

Is there a plugin out there that will allow me to do something like this?

OR is there a tutorial that I can refer to?

    Wordpress usually comes with the capabilities you have mentioned without using plugin. Just click 'any one can register' in the settings page and assign the role 'contributor' and save settings.

    If you want to extend the capabilities, you can use this plugin

      If I wanted to allow people to post ONLY a video from like Youtube or Vimeo, is there a feature or plugin that is specifically for this?

    try Role Scoper

    I haven't used it in a while, but if you cann't restrict to videos etc. you'll probably can create a custom post type and then set the role restrictions with role scoper.
