Rotating Landing Pages?

Hi Guys,

Please could I ask your advice again?

The scenario is that there are 4 landing pages that need to be rotated on a website. Currently they are named index, index1, index2 and index3.

Does anyone know how I can do this?

P.S. The site is not a WordPress blog but a static html site

Hi Diana,

If the rotations can be random, then you can use the following php code on your landing page (your landing page would need to have a .php extension, like "index.php")...

$random = rand(1, 4);

if ($random == "1")
{header("Location: http://www.YourWebsite.com/index1.html");
} elseif ($random == "2")
{header("Location: http://www.YourWebsite.com/index2.html");
} elseif ($random == "3")
{header("Location: http://www.YourWebsite.com/index3.html");
} elseif ($random == "4")
{header("Location: http://www.YourWebsite.com/index4.html");
}

?>

If the rotations need to be in order and exact, however, then you can use the code at the following post...

The code in the link above would require some minor modifications (it rotates between 10 pages, so you would need to change it to 4). If you need any help with it let me know!

So if I wrote that code into a text file and renamed it "index.php" and loaded it onto the root, that would work?

Di if you are doing this as a means to split test, then that code above isnt going to be of much use at all, because even though it *may* work, how are you going to track performance and conversion rates?

Is this what you're trying to achieve?

If so, use Googles Website Optimizer.

You can start whats known as an "experiment" and add as many pages as you like.

Then of course, you can monitor performance of your experiment and make adjustments as you see fit.

I certainly hope this is what you are wanting to acheive.

It is for split testing but I will have statcounter code on each page, along with Statcounter code on each thank you/download page.

Appreciate your input. I never heard of Google Website Optimiser. Will take a look there anyway for future reference.

Google Website Optimiser shows all statistics including page views, conversions and so forth. You shouldnt need to do anything manually.
