Default Sales Letter/Ebook Cover Graphic Design Woes...

Can someone help me with a dilemma???

I am used to working on high-profile web projects as part of my (soon to be going ) 9-5 job.

So, I'm used to professional graphic design, well website professionalism in general.. (e.g. Uk Government Home Office website is a past project)

When I look at a standard sales letter page, which usually has bold red underlined centred text, chunky, bevelled, 3D buttons etc, freeware clip-art, I flinch thinking it looks really amateurish and dated... but on the other hand, I guess it works, otherwise people would have made a more professional look and feel??

I'm just about to launch my new ebook (which relates to healthy living and eating well) and supporting website/sales page, and I want it to look classy and professional (credible, I guess...) - if I do that rather than a standard sales letter route type look and feel, am I going to lose sales?

Thanks for any advice.

p.s. Post Number 1 complete

p.p.s. Can't post links yet - only got noob access

Hi,

Personally you won't know for sure until you test as the sales page you love may do nothing for your buyers and the page you find really amateurish could bring in lots of sales.

The key thing here is to test, you could always try out your sales letters here on the forum as a WSO and ask for feedback which would be a safe way of seeing how you could tweak the sales letter for best performance.

Regards
Byron

Of course! - slaps forehead. Test it out...

I can just change the CSS to crank-up or tone down the "sizzle factor".

Thanks for your advice.
