How to Add CSS non-image buttons onto Custom Community Template (WP)

Hey, I was recently introduced to CSS when requesting feedback on my website. I used CSSButtonGenerator.com and created a few test buttons. I thought I could just add the script on my page with my html editor, but that didn't work.

I have been trying to use the css and javascript toolbox plugin. It seemed to work on the backend, but it does not translate through to the frontend of my site. On the page, this plugin creates an additional box that allows "write here custom CSS or Javascript fo this entry, it will be added within the tags <header>" (I have no idea what that means, I am wondering if I am suppose to add this code as a widget in my header area??). Under the url of the custom CSS File, it has http://www.aareaforum.com/style.css

I just want to add a series of non-image css buttons to my home page page so it looks better.

Any ideas?

Okay, I just noticed, the css script comes up at the top of the page.......just the code, not the css buttons. It is hard to see because my background is dark and the text is black.

You have an alternative? I would also love to see a website you think is 2011 =) I can't say I know the latest website trends.
