Do you already own the domain? Are you hosting with Godaddy as well?

If you're using Go Daddy for your domain and hosting, they have an application installer on the control panel for your hosting account. When you go to that control panel, they have a list of apps you can install on your domain. Just find WordPress and follow the prompts. They have a knowledgebase article at help{dot}godaddy{dot}com/article/834 that walks you through it.

        Wrong answers

        1. You should NOT have ever the same company as registrar and host for your sites.

        2. GD is a very bad choice for hosting. Not guaranteed that any of the otherwise valid WP-relate advice will work there ever.

Otherwise, there is no difference between how you upload your html files to a hosted domain and how you upload your WP files. After uploading, you run the installation process.

I agree bad idea to host with Godaddy
So many people are scammed by them its pitiful I would never even buy a domain with them, dont trust them . no way

also agreed dont host with your registrar, they control too much of your destiny.

I tried Godaddy one time, but left them shortly. every click is an upsell. I have been quite happy with Hostgator. I have a friend who swears by dream host. YMMV

Most people seem to prefer Namecheap, Including me
No I do not host with them, dont even know if they have a host

Namecheap my domain expired 6 wks prior
Now with Godaddy they would have tried to extort me for 200 dollars or tried to auction my expired domain (illegal IMO)

Namecheap>? I emailed them 6 WEEKS AFTER EXPIRY, and they said ok sure no problem put 10 dollars into your account and we will reactivate your domain

they are straight shooters they dont fk around with their customers

Godaddy , on the other hand, views customers as suckers and will try to steal their domain or fk them over at the first opportunity
