I have a unique situation. I've become engrossed in a new hobby that I took it on as a project. I import a particular fitness item that we find too expensive to ship into my home state (Hawaii). I have a large shipment coming in where many have claimed through modest craigslist offers but I need to go step2 if I want to market my second shipment. I have domains, email, licenses, brand, etc all in place but no web presence. no web presence means I cannot promote outside of word of mouth. i need some ideas. I want to secure an online store for folks who want to buy the product and pick them up. might be easier than cash payments, and shipping the smaller items would be inexpensive enough to the mainland market so having national promotion is NOT a bad idea. anyone got any good ideas? I probably have about 20 individual items to promote. I value word of mouth advertising so getting locals talking is going to be helpful --- i just want to go a little wider. If this ends up being a stupid thread I will happily have it deleted. just want to put it out there to you guys. |

It sounds like you're saying you want a secure online store for people who want to buy the product online and pick them up in person? You might be able to do this with a Yahoo store. If you go to Yahoo and do some searches for Yahoo store you should get a lot of info. Another way to maybe do this is with something called PayPal. It's a payment system that got popular on eBay and has become mainstream. You can let people securely pay through PayPal and then just come pick up the merchandise.

It may be something that Traffic Geyser could help you with. Don't be put off by its price tag, as you can try it for a 30-day period which is what I am going to do shortly. Apparently, it's very good at helping out local businesses because it dominates niches very well. If you want more info, just go to trafficgeyser dot com. I'm not an affiliate as I don't yet own it. All the best, Clément Yeung |
